If you aren’t looking for a high-end car that’s dripping with innumerable trims, the 2019 Ford Edge SUV could be the right choice for you. This midsize crossover by Ford has been around for a few years now, but the 2019 version has some new trims that promise to deliver a new driving experience. At first glance, the 2019 Ford Edge crossover comes across as a very practical and compact, 5-seater family car – which it certainly is. But there is a more exciting side to the Edge. Its quick steering power delivers the thrill of a sports car.

The big change is in the engine that has moved up from the older V6 to a 2.0L turbo-4 and an 8-speed automatic transmission that together produce a decent 250 hp. Apart from this standard engine, there is a wide variety of turbocharged engines to choose from. The edge is also available in both 2-wheel and 4-wheel drive, and can tow an incredible 3,500 pounds. It’s not a guzzler and delivers 22 mpg within city limits and 29 mpg on highways. The Ford Edge in Durham is available in the basic SE model as well as the SEL, Titanium, and SE models. The Titanium model boasts of leather upholstery and a sunroof. The ST model can be fitted with 21-inch tires and stronger brakes for added protection if it’s going to be driven for a sports-car feel.

Another big difference in the 2019 Edge is Ford has standardized the safety automatic emergency braking system as an added precautionary safety measure. The safety system is the Ford Co-Pilot 360 – a suite of five very smart safety features that make the Edge all the more reliable, safe, and secure. The interior of the Edge is fitted with tech-assisted trims including cabin particulate air filter, manual tilt/telescoping steering column, and an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror.
